Medicaid Programs
Since the Company's inception, we have created programs to serve individuals and families who are eligible for Medicaid. By applying lessons learned in the private sector, we are dedicated to serving more than 1.7 million members nationwide, providing them better access to quality healthcare. The vast majority of our membership is served by Medicaid through the following programs:
TANF: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
This program serves pregnant women, mothers and children under the age of 19 who meet each state's income guidelines.
SSI: Supplemental Security Income
This program is designed to assist those low incomes individuals who have qualified for and receive this supplemental benefit. It includes the elderly and persons with physical and/or behavioral disabilities and is sometimes called the Aged, Blind and Disabled (ABD) population
LTC: Long Term Care
Our Long Term Care programs are designed to assist those who are chronically ill or disabled. In Florida it is specifically designed as a Long Term Care Diversion Waiver program to help seniors get the services they need to continue living at home or in an assisted living facility. In New York the program helps chronically ill or disabled persons with services at home, in assisted living facilities and in nursing homes.
SCHIP: State Children's Health Insurance Program
This program was designed to help children under 19 who do not qualify for Medicaid and also do not have health insurance. Each state has specific income guidelines and some include small premiums.
