  • AMERIGROUP Regulatory

On the most basic level, the Regulatory Services department is the communications link between AMERIGROUP and the regulatory world of state agencies. This team has four major areas of accountability and is available during normal hours of operation:

Understanding and Communicating Rules and Requirements

The Regulatory Services Unit is responsible for understanding and communicating the rules and requirements that we must comply with as a licensed MCO and state contractor. As subject matter experts of the state regulations and contracts, our liaison role with our state partners and internal customers is key to working through ambiguous business requirements, managing required regulatory reporting and other state deliverables, and coordinating responses to and from state agencies regarding AMERIGROUP issues and concerns.

    Business Development

The Regulatory Services Business Development unit supports the Company's growth initiatives through project managing regulatory activities for market entry and operations. The team is a key participant throughout the life cycle of development and implementation activity, beginning with the initial research and assessment phase, through proposal review activities, licensure application and approval, readiness review submissions, implementation activity and go-live operations.

    Policy and Procedures

Our dedicated Policy & Procedures (P&P) Unit focuses on facilitating the development, standardization, and on-going maintenance of policies and procedures in conjunction with corporate and health plan subject matter experts. The team works to ensure P&Ps are reviewed and updated timely, comply with contractual requirements, accurately reflect our operations and are accessible to all associates.

    Operational Compliance

Our Operational Compliance team focuses on strengthening and enhancing our corporate compliance program through monitoring and tracking the implementation of new and revised state requirements.
